The Old Joint Stock Theatre is part of a Grade II listed building situated opposite Birmingham's beautiful St Philip's Cathedral, and right in the heart of Birmingham’s city centre. This grand building is home to a 100 seat fully equipped studio theatre and is perfect for very intimate performances. The Old Joint Stock Theatre has a variety of productions all year round, with local and visiting companies performing everything from new writing to full length musicals, and from stand up to belly dance!
The theatre includes full dressing and green room facilities,the box office, cloakroom and lounge area for interval drinks, as well as a selection of rostra to accomodate for any type of staging and seating that allows each production or hire to inhabit the space to it's best potential.
The theatre is perfect for theatre, gigs and music events,stand up and comedy nights, one-off performanceevenings, new writing, musicals, dance and much more!
The theatre attracts companies and artists from across the region and nationally - Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Wales, Manchester, Leeds, and London. Mrs Barbara Nice, Stewart Lee, Reginald D Hunter, Jim Jeffries, Tom Allen, to name but a few.
