Tom Allen: Women!
Performance date - 06/02/10
Performance time - 8pm

Tom brings his successful Edinburgh Fringe 2009 show to the OJST in which Tom talks about the women he’s loved…but not like that.
In 2005 Tom Allen won the coveted SO YOU THINK YOU’RE FUNNY? competition in Edinburgh and went on to win the BBC NEW COMEDY AWARD later that year.
Since then he has performed at the international JUST FOR LAUGHS FESTIVAL in Montreal, at Manchester’s QUEER UP NORTH and has had his own highly acclaimed show at the Edinburgh Festival for the past two years. Continuing his long term partnership with writer/director John Hoggarth this year sees a second series of their celebrated THE CORRESPONDENT for BBC Radio 4. In addition, Tom plays Pip in the ongoing radio saga BLEAK EXPECTATIONS with Celia Imrie and Richard Johnson and recorded THE WOODEN OVERCOAT with Julia Davies and David Tennant at the end of last year. For television he has appeared in Channel 4’s THE LAW OF THE PLAYGROUND, BBC’s SENSITIVE SKIN, FEAR OF FANNY, and the FRANKIE HOWARD BIOPIC, RATHER YOU THAN ME.
Recent films includes COLOUR ME KUBRICK with John Malkovich and STARTER FOR TEN with James McEvoy and Mark Gatiss.
He did his first Stand Up gig at Bethnal Green Working Man’s Club when he was 21. He responds well to deadlines and strong women.

Theatre Manager's Recommendation:
Saw this show in Edinburgh in August. Tom was on the long list of shows I had to catch - and he didn't disappoint. An hour in this man's company goes so quickly. I was entertained, amused, not only by him, but the audience's reaction to him and his gentle probing into their affairs. His humour is gentle but with an unexpected bite. He is not performing in Birmingham in the near future (according to the various comedy web sites) so catch him if you can. You'll be glad you did!
