The Old Joint Stock opened as one of London Brewer, Fuller Smith & Turner P.L.C’s, finest and most prestigious Ale & Pie Houses in 1997
The grade two listed building, built in 1864 was originally a library before it became the Birmingham Joint Stock Bank, Lloyds Bank then took the building over in 1889 the very same year that Birmingham received City status.
Designed by local architect Julius Alfred Chatwin, best known as the builder of many Victorian gothic churches including part of St Philips Cathedral situated right opposite The Old Joint Stock.
In 2006 Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C. developed The Old Joint Stock Theatre, located on the second floor of this magnificent building it is a custom designed, fully fitted, 80 seat theatre space staging a wide range of productions from Shakespeare to stand up comedy, live music to fashion shows.
In 2009 The Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre was voted as one of the U.K’s top 25 Public Houses by acclaimed writer Roger Protz in The Independent News Paper.
Food is served from 12noon until 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 12noon to 4pm on Sundays.

Our pies are lovingly homemade with the finest ingredients to researched traditional recipes, sometimes with an added twist and are baked individually in short crust pastry. All come with chips, mash or new potatoes & seasonal vegetables.
